Fu un lampo magnifico!
How much did the encounter with Battiato influence my life?

When you have an experience, in a certain place or with a certain person, you feel that there is something special, something that transcends human nature. And today I ask myself: what were those small experiences that produced big effects in my life?
Well, I can say that meeting Franco Battiato, a rare person with an ancient soul, was a significant turning point for my change.

"Fu un lampo magnifico!"

The new disc by Stefano Orfeo Meneghetti

This musical project is an opportunity to further explore these experiences and wants to be a heartfelt thank you to the worlds, people, and places I have encountered, explored, and assimilated.

2 tracks lasting about 20 minutes.
1. It was a magnificent flash!
2. Tam Đảo Listening to the silence

Acoustic carpets that change over time, into which stories and sound environments are grafted. It is more like a journey, a walking by changing from time to time the frequencies of a radio, sometimes having the good fortune to tune into phrases by Franco Battiato, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Mme Michelle Thomasson, Raimon Panikkar, Paolo Terni, Isao Hosoe.

Fu un lampo magnifico!
There are influences of various kinds: from Battiato, with his album 'Campi magnetici', to Teho Teardo's research that becomes style. From Brian Eno to the compositions of Gustav Mahler, not forgetting the intuitive sensitivity of Holger Czukay.
And then there are places, Sicily, Istanbul, the Middle East, nature in its entirety.

"Like music for places of transit: stations, airports, docks, the piece describes the Journey, from the lost shores of a vast sea, to rainy forests among the mountains, to the echoes of remote bells of a familiar and unknown Orient. Of the journey is the contemplative stillness of nature and the paroxysmal frenzy of the metropolis. And between the lines of the journey, the voice of wisdom re-emerges at times, which, as in the image of the well in the I Ching, is the immutable in change.
Everything flows (memories, words, emotions) in the motionless place where everything transits.

Stefano Orfeo Meneghetti, born in 1964, musician and graphic artist, travelled many different paths before becoming aware that he had a talent, more than anything else, for composing sound and visual geometries.
"Music was my friend throughout my teenage years, it helped me create parallel worlds and nurtured me. It was a magnificent flash! is a stage in this adventure."
